Dude in a Downtown Loft
:: Low budget, small pad, FAB outcome ::
22 INTERIORS was approached by a young finance professional to help him polish up his elevated bachelor pad at the El Dorado downtown. Our challenge was to work within a small space, given small means. With a tight budget, we wanted to add a few dramatic pieces to anchor the loft while simaltaneously complementing them with decor simplicity.
Most Angelenos don't get downtown very often, but after this project we hope to be in and around LA's historic central neighborhoods for both designing and inspiration.
Our friends at The Foundation Shop made magic building this 22 INTERIORS custom designed cognac color leather sectional. Perfect for an open floor plan, this sofa provides ample seating and really reflects the client's desire to keep things masculine.
The coffee table below is incredibly versitile - the top 2 tiers swivel !
We were desperate for a ROOM DIVIDER! These fabulous custom floor length navy velvet curtains did the trick. More financially viable than doors, the curtains add a soft, but dramatic touch and give the a space with exposed walls another texture.
Having just enough resources for minor bedroom additions, we added a series of abstract paintings and kept bedside decor simple and personal.
Terrance Conran designed dining table and benches are accompanied by a composite image of the Graf Zeppelin over Los Angeles City Hall in 1928 from Empiric Studio. The image brings a feel of history to a fresh space in an old building.
Thank you for looking. Stay tuned for more to come! - Lucie Photo creds to my enormously talented sister Anna Eva Kotyza.
