STRIKING PERFECTION NoMo

Ahhhh, how to even begin telling you about this project. The most wonderful thing about this must be the very discerning and creative eye of our clients. They are former punk rockers (no, really) and now live North of Montana or "NoMo" as the Santa Monicans like to call it. It's such prime real estate that as we literally were hanging the last piece of art, the family was approached with an offer for the house they could not refuse. Bitter sweet for everyone, but we could not be happier with the results.

Our entry console and mirror are both from Made Goods. Faux shagreen in pretty much any color makes our hearts flutter.

CAN. NOT. STOP. STARING. Perfection acheived. Light! Interesting objects! Kick ass chandlier! Art!

Details - the 7 Ivory rug from Modern Rugs LA, custom 22 INTERIORS reversible pillows (linen on one side, the yummiest French velvet on the other), Muriel Chandelier by Oly Studio. Art photography by Christy Schnabel. Window treatments by Galaxy.

Our client followed the KonMari method to the point where we had an awkward moment of telling her she needed to stop, because we needed more ... books, objects, STUFF.

The items that weren't shed in her KonMari cleanse were all very meaningful family heirlooms (most objects are bird related...her grandparents had an obsession...) and these amazing Bossons plaster heads (we now have that obsession).

Dining above is kept very simple. The Anziano chair by Donghia is delightful in white ivory or in saddle leather, it's black wire legs give it a gorgeous profile. The Sea Urchin pendant by Coup Studio gives the room a natural organic moment it needs.

Seriously, the above Antica stool by DWR is the most comfortable counter stool you'll ever sit on.

Here's how WE DO contrast....pale colors in our entry, main living room, and then elements of black and gray gradually increaseas you walk through until you arrive in the family room which is painted our favorite graphite gray of all time - Farrow & Ball's Downpipe on the walls and cabinets.

The children had incredibly different requests for their room. One daughter wanted a black and white themed room (above). Since this room didn't get much natural light we needed to do something that would pop on the walls - we chose Albert Hadley's Fireworks wallpaper. The clear acrylic shelves are from the Now You See it Collection from Land of Nod. They are genius in a child's room and we are convinced they should be in ALL children's room.

The teenage daughter's request was for an all white room. We couldn't do ALL white, so we added some grays and a custom XOXO neon sign, and lots of different textures and materials. Custom 22 INTERIORS designed bed has a side fabric panel, so it doubles as a loungy sofa for friends.

Thank you all for reading and looky-looking.

Warmest,

The happy designers at 22 INTERIORS
