Not one but two VERY different kitchen renovations

Happy Spring!

Last year was all about RENOVATIONS and many of them are now being completed. We have two super fun kitchen renovations to show you. The first, a Spanish bungalow, was for a client who is super creative and not afraid at all of doing a kitchen in a color that's not white. What many people might find incredibly risky (bold backsplash pattern tile AND bold floor tile), these clients were all about - though their kitchen isn't large, the character and color is beyond bold.

Breakfast nook leading to kitchen:

Voila!

Added a new farmhouse sink and a Rejuvenation pendant as a nod to the era in which the house was built.

This client had this amazing antique O'Keefe & Merritt range which works perfectly with the new mix:

Now, for a super fun solution to a problem the client had:

how do we give her a desk area (large enough for a laptop), a pantry, AND LAUNDRY ?

DOORS OPEN and RETRACT :

A really FUN project and super satisfying kitchen renovation.

Our next kitchen renovation was for our amazing client with the hammock room (some of you may remember the room that was featured in the LA Times).

We always felt the dark wood cabinets, dark wood floors, and very little natural light didn't make for a happy kitchen. SO being able to do this kitchen was a dream - this West Hollywood townhouse feels completely different.

Here's the before / real estate pic (SO dark!)

And AFTER:

We removed the upper cabinets around the window because we didn't need them for storage (and if our client DOES need more, we'll do some floating shelves), upgraded all the cabinetry to be a modern matte white finish with no hardware.

We did a gorgeous Art Deco inspired bronze on white floor tile - the transition between the dark hardwood floors and the tile works really nicely.

Definitely feels much brighter and happier - love the modern vibe and so happy she did this.

Last, but not least, we have a new team member!

Meet Melissa Schwartz, former 22 Interiors intern, now graduate of Indiana University, and 22 Interiors Junior Designer. So thrilled to have her amazing energy and skills here at 22.

Thank you for looking + reading!

Peace + Love,

Lucie
