The MOST Picturesque House in South Pasadena : part one of two
This is the closest thing to a perfect mix of modern and classic design in our latest project - the picturesque 1920 Maston & Pelt Colonial in South Pasadena that we recently finished.
It was of the utmost importance to deliver a design with obvious nods to a traditional look, but with a strong influence of what I call West Coast modern.
Check out the dining room, where the Pierre Frey wallpaper and gray ceiling and trim feel traditional but the farmhouse dining table, color blocked drapers, and comfortable linen cotton slipcovered chairs reduce the room’s seriousness.
Another important design element for any 22 INTERIORS project has to be edgy pops of color. They are important not only for the contrast they provide, but for their playful and joy provoking abilities - see the bright red chest in the living room and the vibrant blues and oranges in the family room.
