From NYC to Venice Beach

:: Tres Chic in Venice Beach ::

Our client had just moved to Los Angeles from New York City and wanted her new beach home to look feminine, light, and airy. First and foremost - the flow of the space needed to be addressed. Since the entry, living, and dining are all one room, we wanted to make sure we used visual seperators. We felt it was important to define an entry area- a place to put mail, keys, and flowers to greet friends. Now, as you open the front door, you have a gilded console table anchored by a strong bench. Above it is one of our favorite bone mirrors by Made Goods which reflects some of that beautiful ocean light.

Our client wanted a "less is more" look. Breaking up the straight lines of the room is round dining table and a old world vibe Restoration Hardware 19th C. Casbah Crystal Chandelier. It dresses the room up *just* enough.

Drapes are a white linen and look like they are floating because of the stunning acrylic rods (with antiqued brass brackets to go with our chandelier).

The master bedroom is simple but very comfortable with bronze accents and 24" square Z Gallerie champagne collared lace pillows.

Here's a snap shot of me changing up the height of the art work, which if you know me, I NEVER do. But the client hung them way too low and I couldn't let them stay that way.

Thanks for looking!
