The Sunset Strip Rock-n-Roll Modern House : Designing to Rent

When a previous client asks you to give their ultra glamourous Sunset Strip rental a facelift, you say "yes." Immediately. This stunning West Hollywood home at the far west end of Sunset Boulevard boasts all the ammenties you could ask for, though it lacked a cohesive design plan. Our task was to give this mega-pad a warm and welcoming feel on a serious budget and tight timeline. Whether you're in LA for the week or camped for the month, THIS has become the place to stay (the young pop star set especially dig it).

Fashion soup anyone? The entry is anchored by this bold pop art canvas and an awesome industrial table we snagged off the showroom floor from our friends at HD Buttercup.

Keeping things downstairs neutral with a touch of glam, we flanked this traditional dining table with chairs from Z Gallerie and laid down a super yummy rug from our favorite dudes at Modern Rugs LA.

An open floorplan that adjoins massive indoor/outdoor living space calls for ample seating while maintaing a breezy walkthrough. These Barcelona chairs opposite our nod to old Hollywood sofa play off the room's black and white architectural details.

How comfy is this second living area! Set between the decked out kitchen and the serene pool lounge, this room screams chill zone. Don't be afraid to play with the shape of your sectional. Not conforming to by-the-book layouts keep guests on their toes. Hint: Have a pesky free standing fireplace and removal isn't an option? Cut a custom piece of glass to cover the top and use it as extra table space.

This serene master suite lets the KILLER view be the focal point. Walls painted in Benjamin Moore Grand add to the soft palette provided by light hues of both pink and green throughout both this room and the first guest seen below.

The back bedrooms get a splash of color. Above, this Ralph Lauren Renoir blue is a new favorite of ours for a bit of subdued bedroom drama. The Farrow & Ball Arsenic green, pictured below, provides a funky finish to the upstairs tour.

And what's a Sunset strip pad without its screening room? Your top shelf seating is wall to wall sofa with the optional up-close-and-personal double club chairs down below. It's hard to compete with our client's own cinematic artwork, but the zebra print rug gives balance to a blockbuster bonus room.
Thank you for looking!
